The Supreme Prosecutors’ Office is mulling introducing the French-style plea bargaining system, which reduces punishment when the defendant plead guilty to charges with court approval.

Prosecutors held a working-level meeting last month to discuss whether to introduce the system.

A prosecution official says that the prosecution has agreed on the need for introducing the plea bargaining system, and is comparing different styles before making a final selection.
