The parliament will hold a confirmation hearing for the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials(CIO) chief nominee Kim Jin-wook on Tuesday.

The National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee is expected to
focus on the nominee's political neutrality in the hearing as he would be the inaugural chief of the powerful investigation agency handling corruption by high-ranking officials.

Rival parties also plan to examine ethics issues, including allegations that Kim purchased shares based on knowledge of undisclosed information. He is also accused of false resident registration.

The nominee recently denied all the allegations.

Kim began his career as a judge in 1995 after passing the state bar exam. He later worked as an attorney at the Kim and Chang law firm for 12 years from 1998, before becoming a researcher at the Constitutional Court.
