The ruling Democratic Party(DP) has welcomed President Moon Jae-in's replacement of three Cabinet members on Wednesday, saying the reshuffle will help the administration complete its goals.

Party spokesperson Shin Yeong-dae said the appointments reflect the president's resolve to focus on fighting COVID-19 and establishing peace on the Korean Peninsula. Shin then asked for bipartisan cooperation in the confirmation hearing process.

Senior spokesperson Choi In-ho also echoed this view, saying the right person has been named for the right position.

Meanwhile the main opposition People Power Party(PPP) has criticized the latest reshuffle as lacking reform and only causing public pain.

Spokesperson Yun Hee-suk deplored the nomination of ruling party members and previous officials who stepped down, saying the choices lacked strategy and expertise. The party's floor spokesperson Choi Hyung-du vowed to thoroughly vet the nominees during the hearing.
