South Korea commemorated the 70th Armed Forces Day without a massive military parade.

A ceremony was held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the War Memorial in Yongsan, Seoul, the first time the annual event was held at night.

With about 35-hundred military officials and citizens in attendance, including President Moon Jae-in, the ceremony featured a congratulatory air show by the nation's aerobatic team "Black Eagles" and a taekwondo performance by about 130 soldiers.

The Army displayed its future combat systems including high tech battle gear, while the Air Force and Navy used video clips to introduce the F-35A radar-evading fighter jets and Global Hawk spy drones and a range of surface and subsurface vessels.

The festivities wrapped up after a performance by K-pop star Psy.
