Presidential Candidates to Face in Third TV Debate

Major candidates running in the May 9 presidential election will continue their campaigning on Sunday to win voter support.

Moon Jae-in of the Democratic Party will hold a news conference at the National Assembly to announce his plans to counter threats of North Korea’s nuclear weapons and to preserve peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Ahn Cheol-soo of the People’s Party will hold an event in downtown Seoul on Sunday afternoon to unveil his platform for the people and vision for the future.

Conservative candidate Hong Joon-pyo from the former ruling Liberty Korea Party will meet with social and religious figures such as Reverend Cho Yong-mok from the Church of Grace and Truth in Seoul to listen to their opinions concerning social unity.

Yoo Seong-min of the splinter conservative Bareun Party will visit Imjingak, a park near the inter-Korean border in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

Sim Sang-jeung of the progressive Justice Party will meet voters at the Gupabal subway station in Seoul.

The third TV debate among the five presidential candidates is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Sunday. Organized by the National Election Commission, the debate will be held in the headquarters of KBS in Seoul.
