Moon Jae-in Widens Lead Over Ahn Cheol-soo in Gallup Poll

A new survey shows that the Democratic Party's presidential candidate Moon Jae-in is leading Ahn Cheol-soo of the People’s Party by a margin of 16 percentage points.
 
In the Gallup Korea poll on one-thousand-six people conducted from Tuesday to Thursday, Moon garnered a support rating of 40 percent and maintained his lead over Ahn who received 24 percent.
 
The Liberty Korea Party’s Hong Joon-pyo came in third with 12 percent, followed by Sim Sang-jeung of the progressive Justice Party who earned seven percent.
 
Yoo Seong-min of the splinter right-wing Bareun Party came in last with four percent.
 
The survey had a 95 percent confidence level with a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-one percentage points. Details on the latest survey are available on the Web site of Gallup Korea or the National Fair Election Survey Deliberation Commission(www.nesdc.go.kr).
