[Candidate 4] Yoo Seong-min - Bareun Party

Earning a Ph.D. in economics in the U.S. in 1987, Yoo Seong-min of the Bareun Party worked as an economist at a state-run think tank for 12 years.
 
A four-term lawmaker, he also served as chief of staff to former President Park Geun-hye when she was a lawmaker. Their rift, however, widened after Yoo was openly critical of then President Park's policies as a floor leader of the ruling party. His conflict with Park, who was ousted following a corruption scandal, however, catapulted him into a national politician and a presidential candidate of a conservative breakaway party.
