Chinese President Sends Congratulatory Message to President Moon

Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory message to President Moon Jae-in on his election victory.
 
According to China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency, Xi said in the message on Wednesday that South Korea and China are important neighbors.
 
Xi added that relations between the two nations have advanced deeply since establishing diplomatic relations 25 years ago. He said the relationship has benefited the people of both nations and contributed to regional peace and development.
 
The Chinese president went on to say that he highly values Seoul-Beijing relations and hopes to maintain the rewards of that relationship.  
 
Xi said that he hopes the two sides solidify political trust based on mutual understanding and respect, amicably resolve differences in opinion and strengthen cooperation. He ended the message by noting that he looks forward to a healthy and stable development in bilateral relations.
