S. Korea Seeks to Advance to Central Asia Market
The government is devising a comprehensive plan to advance into the Central Asian region with its rapidly developing economies and abundant energy resources.
During a Cabinet meeting Tuesday, the government's policy coordination office proposed a plan to increase trade with countries in the region including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan from one-point-one billion U.S. dollars to ten billion dollars by 2015.
Also, the plan called for a fivefold boost in construction orders for South Korean companies to five billion dollars by 2015.
To that end, the government has decided to step up high-level exchanges with officials from the region.
