Experts Discuss Beef Negotiation Strategies
The government has convened a meeting of livestock quarantine experts in preparation for quarantine negotiations with the United States.
The Agriculture Ministry says participants discussed four to five scientific arguments to counter the U.S. demands that Seoul ease beef import rules in accordance with international standards.
The ministry said that Korea-U.S. quarantine negotiations will likely open next month after Seoul finalizes its negotiation strategy next week in another meeting of quarantine experts.
