'Delegates from 2 Koreas Uncomfortable Together'

News2008-12-03

Radio Free Asia, a U.S. government-funded radio broadcaster, reported Wednesday that South and North Korean delegates attending an international forum seemed uncomfortable in a conference room together.

The radio quoted an Italian Foreign Ministry official as saying that U.S. and North Korean delegates attended an international conference on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula but did not talk to each other.

The Italian official was quoted as saying that the North Korean delegates did not comment on the South Korean delegates' briefing of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex.

In addition, the official said the North Koreans suggested that Pyongyang will provide more opportunities for foreign investors but made no mention of Gaeseong.
