RFA: US Denies Reports on Halt of Food Aid to NK
Radio Free Asia says the U.S. Department of State has denied recent reports that claim the United States has temporarily suspended food aid to North Korea.
The U.S. nonprofit broadcaster said that Washington and Pyongyang are, however, haggling over how to monitor the distribution of the U.S. aid, which is being channeled to the North through the World Food Program (WFP).
In current negotiations, the U.S. is demanding the North not place a limit on the number of Korean-speaking monitors allowed to participate in the distribution.
