The Korea Communications Standards Commission has decided to set up a standard for evaluating the fairness of broadcasts.

The commission said that it will set up the guideline based on a report submitted by six media academics.

Over 33 criteria were included in the report, such as the need to reflect multiple and various opinions for handling controversial issues and banning broadcasters from providing selective information advantageous to select entities.

The commission said it also plans to collect opinions from various experts and professionals in the field and draft a final guideline within the first half of the year.
