Gov't to Provide More Support for Kindergartners
The government announced Wednesday it will begin providing pre-school tuition support for households earning a combined monthly income of less than 4.36 million won.
The previous income limit was 3.98 million won.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said the increase in the income ceiling will be in effect from July through February 2010, while the amount of tuition aid will remain unchanged.
The government will disburse monthly subsidies of 57-thousand won in tuition fees for the families of five-year-olds attending national and public kindergartens, and 172-thousand won for those attending private kindergartens.
