Trilateral FM Talks Opening Monday in Shanghai
Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan (photo) will hold trilateral talks with China and Japan in Shanghai Monday.
Yu, Yang Jiechi of China, and Katsuya Okada of Japan will prepare for the three-way summit among the three countries in the middle of next month in Beijing.
They will also discuss relations among the three nations, North Korea's nuclear program, and regional political affairs.
The meeting of foreign ministers is expected to serve as an opportunity to build a new three-way cooperative system, and the first of its kind since the Democratic Party of Japan took over as its country's ruling party.
South Korea will also seek support from China and Japan for a successful hosting of the Group of 20 summit in November next year.
