Visibility Sharply Improves in Seoul

Visibility in downtown Seoul has sharply improved this year.

According to a survey by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, 81 of this year’s 285 days as of Monday had visibility of over 20 kilometers.

There were only 49 such days in the same period of last year.

The city also said that the annual average density of minute dust particles fell from 60 micrograms in 2006 to 53 this year.

City officials attributed the improved air quality in Seoul to the introduction of natural gas buses and low-pollution diesel cars and more eco-friendly methods of cleaning roads.
