Pres. Lee Urges GNP to Unite

President Lee Myung-bak is stressing the need for his Cabinet to quickly come up with an alternative to the Sejong City development plan and for the ruling camp to unite on the issue.

In a breakfast meeting with the leaders of the ruling Grand National Party (GNP) on Monday, Lee said he hopes the alternative will be well thought out and will be in the best interests of the nation.

Lee also stressed the importance of the GNP uniting in a bid to overcome difficult times, referring to factional strife over the Sejong City project reported in the media.

On a government plan to develop the nation’s four major rivers, Lee urged the GNP to quickly approve the budget for next year at the National Assembly.
