N. Korea Wraps up Rare Party Congress with Mass Art Performance

North Korea wrapped up a rare congress of the ruling Workers' Party on Wednesday with a mass indoor art performance attended by leader Kim Jong-un.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) reported on Thursday that the grand art performance took place the previous day at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium in celebration of the eighth party congress.

The report said the event featured mass gymnastics, an orchestra, a chorus and dance accompanied by "three dimension multimedia" and lighting.

The art performance was attended by Kim and other senior officials, including Choe Ryong-hae, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly.

The event comes a day after the North wrapped up the eighth congress, which was held for eight days. The KCNA did not mention whether a military parade was held after the congress.
