Defense Chief Holds Talks with Philippines
Defense Minister Yoon Kwang-ung and Philippine counterpart Avelino Cruz held talks Friday in Seoul on cooperation in the defense industry and military affairs.
Yoon urged Manila to allow South Korean defense contractors to take part in the Philippines' military modernization project set for 2011.
Cruz said he was impressed with South Korea's state-of-the-art defense technologies after visiting the Agency for Defense Development and Hanjin Heavy Industries Thursday.
He also stressed bilateral military collaboration as a way to bring the two countries closer together.
