Nat'l Oil Consumption Grew 1.2% Last Year
The nation consumed some 760 million barrels of oil last year, up 1.2 percent from 2004.
The Finance and Economy Ministry on Thursday said per capita oil consumption reached seven liters a day, six times that of water consumption.
In the face of high oil prices, the government has introduced energy conservation measures including restrictions on private car use, and is urging voluntary efforts to save energy by the private sector.
