Uri Party Convention Set to Open Wednesday
The ruling Uri Party will hold its national convention Wednesday and express its determination to form a new, integrated party.
Uri members are planning on appointing Rep. Chung Sye-kyun as the new party leader and announcing their appointments to the party’s new supreme council.
Whether or not the convention will actually be held depends on the participation of delegates. The attendance of some five-thousand Uri members, or the majority, is needed for the convention to take place.
Meanwhile, the lawmakers who have bolted from the ruling camp plan to visit the National Cemetery in Daejon on Wednesday and unveil their plans for the future.
