'More Women Prefer a Daughter'

An online survey conducted by a children's clothing brand finds that six out of ten Korean women prefer daughters over sons.

Of the 26-hundred surveyed, over 60 percent said their ideal number of children was two. The second largest group, accounting for 24 percent, answered they wanted only one child while the remaining 15 percent said they wanted three.

As the biggest stumbling blocks to raising children, 45 percent chose arranging daycare. Others cited economic conditions and self-development.

In addition, most respondents wished that the government would provide childcare subsidies and address the daycare shortage.
