Lawmakers to Protest Partial Release of FTA Texts
A group of lawmakers opposed to the recently concluded Korea-U.S. free trade agreement plan to protest the government’s decision to allow lawmakers to view only portions of the original text for the deal.
Democratic Labor Party lawmaker Shim Sang-jung told reporters that the government ignored lawmakers by disclosing only the English-language version of the trade deal and keeping key documents confidential.
She urged the government to disclose all FTA-related texts, adding that she and her fellow lawmakers will visit the prime minister to protest the partial disclosure.
