FM: Korea to Use 3x More Renewable Energy by 2030
Foreign Minister Song Min-soon has pledged to raise the nation’s renewable energy rate to nine percent by 2030, almost three times the current rate.
Song made the announcement in Washington at a U.S.-sponsored climate change meeting, saying that Korea had devised a new national strategy to tackle climate change.
He introduced some of the strategy's key features which included expanding use of renewable energy and atomic power.
The minister added that the nation is considering the establishment of a market for the buying and selling of carbon emission rights.
