Theft of Korean IDs Surges in Chinese Web Sites
The Information and Communication Ministry says the use of stolen Korean IDs has soared in Chinese and Taiwanese Internet web sites.
According to a report the ministry submitted to an opposition People First Party lawmaker, the number of Korean IDs Chinese and Taiwanese people used to access their Internet Web sites amounted to about 79-thousand in the first half of this year.
The lawmaker urged steps to prevent ID theft through Web sites of government and public agencies while calling for an alternative to personal identification number when accessing Web sites.
