Foreigners Paid Nearly 4 Tln Won in Financial Charges
Foreign investors in the nation were found to have paid nearly four trillion won in commissions last year.
The Bank of Korea announced Monday that foreigners paid around three-point-eight trillion won, or some four-point-one billion dollars, for investment-related services to financial institutions last year. That's a 63 percent rise from 2006.
A central bank official attributed the sharp rise in foreign investors' commission payments to their active selling of stocks in the wake of the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis.
