S.Korea's Nuclear Amb. 'Not Very Optimistic'
South Korea's chief nuclear negotiator says he is "not very optimistic" over the upcoming round of the six-party nuclear talks.
Kim Sook made the comment to reporters before boarding a plane at Incheon International Airport for Beijing Sunday.
Kim said this round of the talks will play an important role in wrapping up the second stage of the denuclearization process and connecting it to the third stage.
He said the six parties will adopt a written protocol for verifying the North’s nuclear activities and revising a time plan for the second stage.
In addition, the key issue at the talks is if Pyongyang will allow international inspectors to take samples from its nuclear sites.
Kim failed to present a projection on whether the sampling issue will be included in the protocol.
