Shares Up, FX Rates Down
Domestic shares have rebounded despite a bullish U.S. stock market last weekend.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index gained 33 points, or three-point-one percent, to close at 1,099 Monday.
It’s the first time for the main bourse to rise in six days.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also jumped around eight-point-four-points, or two-point-three percent, to finish at 375.
On the Seoul foreign exchange market, a dollar traded at 1,489 won on Monday for a decrease of 17 won on news of the strengthened stock market. It’s the won's first gain in ten days.
