LG Dacom has launched its nationwide Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) service called “myLGtv,” becoming the nation’s second IPTV operator to provide the services real time throughout the country following Korea Telecom.

LG Dacom on Tuesday signed contracts with MBC and other terrestrial broadcasters, securing 46 channels in all. That’s the largest amount of channels offered by any of the current three IPTV operators.

The newly launched service will provide real-time broadcasting to viewers in regions other than the capital area. So far, only some 25-thousand IPTV subscribers living in Seoul and the surrounding areas have been able to subscribe to real-time IPTV services.
