North Korea is expected to make an important announcement in regards to its nuclear ambitions when Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visits the North early next month.

According to diplomatic sources in Beijing, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il will likely reiterate his will for denuclearization and unveil detailed measures for a nuclear freeze during a meeting with the Chinese premier.

If Kim makes the announcement as expected, it will serve as a breakthrough in the stalled six-way nuclear talks.

The North Korean leader said during a meeting with Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo, who visited Pyongyang on September 18th, that his country is willing to take part in either multilateral or bilateral meetings to resolve its nuclear issue.

Meanwhile, the Chinese premier is expected to offer food and fuel aid to the North during the scheduled visit.
