First Lady Promotes Korean Cuisine on CNN
First Lady Kim Yoon-ok has promoted the globalization of Korean food by appearing on a special interview with CNN.
Kim appeared on the U.S. broadcaster Monday as part of a special series on South Korea called “Eye on South Korea.”
She showed a CNN correspondent at the presidential office in Seoul how to make two traditional Korean dishes from scratch.
Kim said Korean cuisine offers foreigners the opportunity to enjoy a culture different from their own, as the dishes have both Korean culture and history ingrained into them.
CNN will air “Eye on South Korea” every day from Monday to Friday. The series will introduce South Korea’s green growth drive, IT industries and traditional Korean cuisine.
