Gov’t Finalizes Reforms for Foreign Language High Schools

The government announced Thursday a list of finalized measures to reform foreign language high schools.

The Education Ministry said the current form of the schools will be maintained as a way of fostering fluency in foreign languages.

But overall enrollment figures will be slashed, with the maximum number of classes being set at ten per grade with no more than 25 students in each class.

The ministry said that if foreign language high schools reject the measures, they will be forced to transform into either international or autonomous high schools.
