Former PM Rejects Second Summons

Former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook has rejected prosecutors’ second summons over charges of receiving bribes during her term in office.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office said the former prime minister was asked to appear at the prosecutors’ office for questioning at 9 a.m. Monday.

Prosecutors are considering whether to send Han a third summons or seek an arrest warrant.

A prosecutor said that the former prime minister should appear at the prosecutors’ office and proclaim her innocence if the graft allegations are false.

Han said in a news release Sunday that she will not accept prosecutors’ summons before objective evidence is presented.
