In women's team table tennis, South Korea triumphed over Romania 3 to 2 after a hard fought match of over three hours and advanced to the quarterfinals.

In women's judo, Kim Min-jeong in the +78 kilogram class failed to win a medal as she lost to Chinese judoka Yu Song in the bronze medal match.
