Competition Venues

Athlete-centered Olympics
The PyeongChang Games will be held in 12 stadiums equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and systems, including seven for sports on the snow and five on the ice. All of them can be reached within 30 minutes by car from the athletes' village. As the most compact-ever Winter Olympics, the PyeongChang Games will offer optimal environments to enable athletes to focus on competitions.
Sustainability
Every stadium was designed to be used even after the closing of the Olympics. For the first time in Olympic Winter Games history, the PyeongChang Games acquired certification to the ISO 20121, also known as the Event Sustainability Management System. Once the PyeongChang Games is over, the Olympic Stadium will be used as a cultural performances stage as well as an Olympics promotional hall. The Bobsleigh stadium will be turned into tube slides and the ski jumping launching zone an observatory for tourists.
