The North’s official Central Broadcasting Station reports the back region near Mount Baekdu is connected to stable power supply.
Under the direction of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, the region started building power plants in 2002.
The report said that, accordingly, the households in Samjiyon could enjoy the full benefit of the electric power. For example, the travelers to the area could stay warm during winter, and Samjiyon’s tools and clothing plants will normalize operation.
