Acting President Han Duck-soo held telephone talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to ensure stable management of Seoul-Tokyo relations.

The office of the prime minister briefed reporters about the telephone talks, which took place Thursday morning.

Han told Ishiba over the phone that state affairs in South Korea will proceed in accordance with the nation’s Constitution and that the government will make sure there are no glitches in foreign or security policy.

Following the parliamentary impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol and the suspension of his duties on Saturday, Prime Minister Han took over the executive authority as the acting president of the nation.
