South Korea said on Sunday that it has provided one million dollars worth of coronavirus test devices to Iran to support its fight against the global pandemic.

The South Korean Embassy in Tehran said that the assistance was offered to Pasteur Institute, an Iranian state-run medical research institute, as a token of humanitarian support and friendship between the two countries.

Last month, South Korea provided about 200-thousand dollars worth of assistance to Iran, including coronavirus test devices and spray disinfectant.

Iran's health authorities said the country has so far reported over 120-thousand cases of coronavirus, with its death toll standing at some seven thousand.
