South Korean football star Son Heung-min has scored his 100th goal as a member of Tottenham Hotspur in the first match of the new year.

Son’s goal in the 43rd minute put his team in the lead by 2-0 against Leeds United in a Premier League match at Tottemham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday.

The South Korean forward also set up the team's third goal with a corner headed in by Toby Alderweireld five minutes into the second half.

Tottenham won the game 3-0, rising from seventh to third place in the league.

The goal, assisted by Harry Kane, was Son's 100th in all competitions for Totthenham since he joined the team in 2015. Son has reached a century of goals in his 253rd appearance.

With the goal, Son and Kane equaled the Premier League record for most goal combinations in a season, leveling Blackburn’s Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton’s tally of 13 in the 1994/95 season.
