Daily COVID-19 Cases in 300s for 2nd Straight Day

New COVID-19 cases in South Korea has remained in the 300s for the second straight day as infection clusters involving family gatherings and workplace interactions continue to be reported nationwide.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said Monday that 355 people tested positive throughout Sunday, raising the country's cumulative total to 90-thousand-29.

The cumulative total, which had eclipsed the 80-thousand-mark on February 5, passed the 90-thousand-mark in just 24 days on Monday.

Out of the 355 new cases, 338 were local infections, 262 of which were in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Two more people succumbed to the virus since Sunday, bringing the death toll to one-thousand-605.

According to authorities, 765 additional people received COVID-19 vaccinations as of 12:00 a.m. Monday, bringing the overall total to 21-thousand-177 people since the nationwide inoculation program kicked off on Friday.
