Senior prosecutors will meet next week to discuss the ruling party's push to strip the prosecution of its investigative powers and transfer that authority to a newly envisioned law enforcement body.

In a message to reporters on Friday, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office said the heads of High Prosecutors' Offices nationwide will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday chaired by assistant prosecutor general Cho Nam-kwan.

Cho is currently serving as acting prosecutor general after Yoon Seok-youl's resignation on Thursday, following open conflict with the ruling camp over its law enforcement reform campaign.

Participants are also expected to address ways to seek stability for the prosecution following Yoon's resignation.
