South Korea settled for a goalless draw against Iraq in the opening game of the final World Cup qualifying round in Seoul on Thursday.

Team Korea's international stars - Son Heung-min, Hwang Ui-jo and Lee Jae-sung - launched a full-blown attack but failed to break down a tight Iraqi defense at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

South Korea, ranked 36th against Iraq's 70th, had 15 shots and held possession of the ball 68 percent of the game, but had nothing to show for it.

Korea will play Lebanon next Tuesday at Suwon World Cup Stadium, on the outskirts of Seoul.
