Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, a leading presidential contender of the main opposition People Power Party (PPP), will reportedly file a complaint against the nation's spy chief over a political scandal.

PPP lawmaker Chang Je-won, head of Yoon's election camp, said on Sunday in a news conference that the camp will file a complaint against National Intelligence Service (NIS) director Park Jie-won on Monday on charges of violating election laws and the National Intelligence Service Act.

Yoon's camp is claiming that Park is behind the recent allegations that Yoon attempted to meddle in politics while serving as prosecutor general.

Rep. Chang also called for a swift investigation into a meeting between Park and Cho Sung-eun, an informant who first raised the allegations against Yoon.

Chang called the scandal a political maneuver created by Park and Cho to eliminate a leading presidential contender of the opposition bloc.
