The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose two-point-92 points, or zero-point-13 percent, on Tuesday, closing the day at two-thousand-223-point-86.
 
Earlier in the day, the main bourse dipped below the two-thousand-200 level, hitting the lowest level in two years and two months.
 
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also ended the day stronger, gaining five-point-74 points, or zero-point-83 percent, closing the day at 698-point-11.
 
On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened nine-point-eight won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-421-point-five won.
