The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining six-point-97 points, or zero-point-98 percent, to close the day at 719-point-49.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened 16-point-seven won against the U.S. dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-301-point-three won.
