The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, shedding 22-point-04 points, or two-point-five percent to close at 860-point-68.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened nine-point-six won against the U.S. dollar, closing the day at one-thousand-339-point-seven won.
