Senior N. Korean Officials Visit Beijing ahead of US-N. Korea Summit

A group of high-ranking North Korean officials is confirmed to be visiting China.
KBS reports that Ryu Myong-son, deputy director of international relations of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea(WPK), arrived in Beijing on an Air Koryo plane on Monday morning, along with Kim Nung-o, head of the party's North Pyongan Central Committee, and Kim Su-gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang WPK City Committee.
Escorted by Chinese officials, they appear to have moved to the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, where heavier security than usual is in place.
A diplomatic source says the North may have sent the delegation to explain to China some developments regarding next month’s U.S.-North Korea summit.
However, some observers say it could also be a regular exchange between the ruling parties of the two communist countries since Ryu attended a meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and China’s special envoy Song Tao in Pyongyang last month.
