A North Korean state-run newspaper has called on the U.S. to show respect to its dialogue partners.  

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the North’s ruling Workers’ Party, made the call on Tuesday as it denounced the U.S. State Department’s condemnation of human rights conditions in North Korea. The paper claimed such move by the U.S. is an unacceptable provocation. 

While claiming that there are no human rights violations in the North, the daily said that Washington is not in a position to raise the issue, noting gun violence, social inequality and racial discrimination in the U.S. 
 
The report stressed that the U.S.’ attitude could ruin the current mood of peace and dialogue and the opportunity to resolve problems and again raise tensions.
