S. Korea: N. Korean Military Commission's Meeting Likely About Resetting Strategic Line

South Korea has assessed that the latest meeting held by the North Korean ruling party's powerful military commission was likely about resetting its stance in line with Pyongyang's change of its strategic line.
On Friday, the North's Korean Central News Agency said its leader Kim Jong-un presided over the first enlarged meeting of the seventh central military commission of the Workers' Party of Korea(WPK).
Speaking about the meeting, the South's Unification Ministry spokesperson Baik Tae-hyun said the North Korean leader stressed fulfilling the decisions made by the party's Central Committee during its recent plenary meeting last month.
On April 20th, the committee decided to end its previous policy of seeking the parallel pursuit of nuclear development and economic expansion and instead direct all focus into the North's economic development.
When asked about the North's point man on the South Ri Son-gwon recently criticizing Seoul, the spokesperson said Seoul believes the two sides' commitment towards fulfilling their recent agreements in Panmunjeom has not changed.
