South Korean President Moon Jae-in and United States President Donald Trump have agreed to continue close consultation for a successful summit of the planned U.S.-North Korea summit.

Presidential spokesman Yoon Young-chan said on Sunday in a written news briefing that the two leaders spoke on the phone for 20 minutes from 11:30 a.m. to exchange views on the recent sudden changes in the North's attitude.

Yoon said that Moon and Trump agreed to maintain their close consultation to ensure that Trump's upcoming summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will be a success.

Moon and Trump are set to hold summit talks in the U.S. on Tuesday ahead of the Washington-Pyongyang summit in June in Singapore.
